Seasonal Maintenance Laborer: 
The Peterborough Department of Public Works is accepting applications for the position of Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Laborer. This is a temporary/seasonal part-time position that will be staffed approximately 28 hours per week.  The starting pay for this position is $15.50 per hour, but is negotiable based on experience. Job responsibilities will include routine mowing and maintenance of cemeteries, parks, recreation grounds, and facilities grounds. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent.  Specific experience operating mowing and landscaping equipment is preferred but training can be provided.

Summer Seasonal Positions at the Peterborough Recreation Department
The Peterborough Recreation Department is now accepting applications for the upcoming 2024 Summer Season! Multiple divisions have positions that need to be filled. The Peterborough Recreation Department is looking for energetic, motivated, friendly, and committed staff members to make the facilities enjoyable to use or have the summer programs run efficiently and effectively. CPR/AED and Basic First Aid is required, but we will train you if you are not currently certified. Seasonal Maintenance:  The seasonal maintenance positions run between mid-May and mid/late-August.  These positions are 40 hour per week positions, running between 8am and 4:30pm. Some weekend work may be required. Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Responsibilities include grounds and building maintenance at several locations, from the facilities, including the pool, at Adams Playground to maintaining the facility at Cunningham Pond. Pay starts at $15.50/hr.

Pool Lifeguards:  Adams Pool is open from the last day of school in June for the Contoocook Valley School District’s calendar until around the 16th of August. Current lifeguard certification is required. If you do not have your certification, we can hire contingent upon successful completion of the Lifeguarding Course. We will be able to help pay for it after successful completion of the course and working with the Peterborough Recreation Department through the end of the summer. Some lifeguards participate in swimming lessons instruction for children. One must be 15 years of age to attain certification. Lifeguards have bi-weekly in-service trainings. Pay:  Starting pay is $15.00/hr. for first year lifeguards.  Part-time and full-time seasonal positions available.

Bathhouse Attendants: Responsible for patron assistance, money management, as well as the cleanliness of facilities at Adams Pool and Cunningham Pond. Good interpersonal skills required. Some lifting is required, especially at Cunningham Pond. Depending upon one’s age, we cross train at both facilities. Most of these open positions are part-time, but we do have the ability to accommodate full-time seasonal employment requests. Pay:  Begins at $12.50 per hr.

At Adams Pool, the bathhouse attendant is responsible for the checking in of patrons, collecting pool fees, monitoring the chlorine levels, helping patrons with life vests if they need them, maintain safety standards, and other duties as assigned. While a 15-year-old may apply for this position, we need employees over the age of 18 to go into the filter room and handle the chlorine briquettes.

At Cunningham Pond, assist patrons with kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals. Collect boat rental fees and monitor car stickers in the Cunningham Pond parking lot. Maintain the cleanliness of the facility.

Teens in Action (TIA) Counselors: Design, organize, and implement two fun-filled and safe programs for teens entering 7th through 10th grade in the fall of 2024. New this year, the program will be offered in two, two-week sessions with a break in between the two sessions. A great job for college students or teachers looking for summer income! Applicants need to be over the age of 18. Strong communication and organizational skills are important and a commitment to safety is a must.  The training for and planning of the program begins in June. Session 1 runs between July 8th and July 19th.  Session 2 runs July 29th through August 9th.  On average, TIA counselors work 40 to 50 hrs. per week. The pay is $18.00/hr.

INVITATION TO BID - Cemetery Work 
The Peterborough Cemetery Trustees will receive sealed bids for grave openings and burials in the Lower, Middle and Upper Pine Hill Cemeteries on Sand Hill Road, and in the Village Yard on Concord Street. Bids will be received at the Cemetery Department Office (Town Clerk’s Office) at 1 Grove Street, Peterborough, NH 03458 until 4:00pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024. They will be opened at 4:30pm on Friday, April 5, 2024.

Specifications may be obtained at the above office.

The Cemetery Trustees reserve the right to reject and or all bids and to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) - Town-wide Aerial Flyover Orthoimagery 
The Town of Peterborough GIT/IT Department seeks to obtain 4-band, 6-inch resolution orthoimagery (town-wide) that would subsequently be used by town staff to update existing planimetric data. The Town is interested in updating its topographic contours and its DEM/DTM/DSM using LiDAR. Imagery shall be captured spring 2024, on a day between April 1st and May 15th best suited for leaf-off imagery capture, between the hours of 11am and 1pm with a sun angle of no less than 30 degrees.
